THERE wins Graphis Gold!

2012 International Graphis Logo Gold Awards

We are pleased to announce that THERE have been selected as a winner in the 2012 International Graphis Logo Design Awards.

Our identity work for both MCK Architects and Parklands Blue Mountains were both awarded Gold at the prestigious awards.

The Graphis Annual features some of the most visually captivating logos selected from thousands of entries submitted worldwide with only the most impressive work selected for inclusion in the global Graphis publication.

We couldn’t be prouder of our design team at THERE.

THERE + ASICS + WMK = SEGD

THERE wins SEGD Merit Award for ASICS.

There were some hi-fives and congratulatory cheers filtering around the studio when we were advised by prestigious international awards body, the Society of Environmental Graphic Designers (SEGD) that our work for ASICS Australia’s new headquarters had been recognised with a Merit Award. Here’s what the Judges had to say:

“One trend that seems prevalent in our profession is that designers will take a stock image, enlarge it on a wall, and believe it is good graphic design. What captured our attention with this project was not simply the use of large imagery, but the successful layering of information that, together with the imagery, made this a meaningful composition appropriate for an athletic company headquarters. It goes beyond the expected.”

We’re quite chuffed with the recognition, and very much agree with the distinguished juror’s comments. It’s quite easy to ‘decorate’ a space with environmental graphics, but THERE’s signature approach of creating Branded Environments goes a step further, with layers of information and visuals that engage, inspire and inform an organisation’s internal culture — all guided by a rigorous understanding of a client’s brand.

THERE Branded Environment

 We’ve just had some new branded environment graphics installed in our warehouse studio by friends and frequent collaborators Spike Signs. Our objective was to bring some dynamism and energy to our meeting room, usually the venue for meetings with our valued clients and suppliers.

The graphics reference ‘dazzle camouflage‘ — developed by modernist artist Sir Norman Wilkinson during World War One, as a means of camouflaging ships from the sights of German U-Boats. There’s no chance of missing our meeting room however, and we’re pleased to be ‘walking the talk’ in showcasing how workplace graphics can evoke brand values whilst creating a signature statement within a space.

We were up on the not-so-sunny Sunshine Coast yesterday conducting a signage planning site visit for the first of an exciting new boutique luxury hotel chain who we’re currently helping with all aspects of their branding. We're delighted to see the rebrand of Adshel go live today - the outcome from nearly a year of close collaboration. The bold, colourful Adshel rebrand will ignite possibilities for their business, pushing forward to shift perceptions of Australia's leading out-of-home media brand.

"The new Adshel brand isn't afraid. It's multicoloured when surrounded by grey, it can share a laugh when many are too serious, it embraces innovation where many are timid in the face of relentless change. Over the course of nearly a year, Adshel and THERE collaborated very closely to create a brand essence and identity that reflects the organisation today, and helps guide them on their journey ahead." says THERE's Creative Director Clinton Duncan, who headed up the project. 

 

 

"We began with workshops and immersion in their business, aiming to distill a brand essence that captured their unique point of view and internal culture. This essence also reinforces their unique offering and the value they create for their clients, with their unrivalled reach and frequency. We brought this to life with a compelling brand identity that doesn't look or act like anything else in their category."

After nearly a year of working with Adshel, their new brand is a bold break from the past. It's been a project that leveraged every aspect of THERE's business - from strategic brand consulting, brand identity design, external and internal communications, implementation and rollout, production and project management — and we're just getting started. In the near future we'll be working with Adshel on a raft of other initiatives, but that's a blog post for another day.

The future looks bright (and colourful) for Adshel, and we're delighted to be a part of their journey.

Bowling for a good cause

Stylecraft Bowling for Cancer Event

THERE are proud to be once again partnering with Stylecraft in helping them with this years Bowling for Cancer evening.

Over the last three years the event has helped raise over $80,000 for the Cancer Council. This year’s target is an ambitious $50,000!

Tickets for this fun event with an ever changing theme (this year is Cowboys and Indians!)have already all been allocated, however cheque donations are still gratefully accepted and should be made out to The Cancer Council and posted to Stylecraft PO Box 584 Darlinghurst NSW 1300.

All funds raised go to the Cancer Council and are split between donations for Breast and Prostate Cancer.

It's makeover time!

The studio is currently hard at work reimagining the brand campaign for a CBD retail centre. We are bringing the trademark 'THERE eye' and working closely with the centre's marketing team to create something new, stylish and exciting for their brand. 

As you can see from these sneak peek images, there are some very difficult creative decisions to be made. It's going to be a fun and challenging proposition to marry the brand strategy with a killer visual for this campaign! Stay tuned.

THERE wins big taking home 8 Awards at the 2012 AGDA Australian Design Biennale Awards.

We are thrilled to announce that THERE has scooped eight Awards at the 2012 AGDA Australian Design Biennale Awards over the weekend. The AGDA Award program is Australia’s barometer for creative design excellence, and so we’re absolutely delighted to have been awarded so extensively.

THERE picked up awards across a number of categories including:

3 x Digital Media Awards (Futurespace / Geyer / MCK Architects)
3 x Three-Dimensional Awards (3M / ASX)
2 x Image Making Awards (IMEI / Adshel)
